Alaska GOP Primary Challengers Suffer Palin Derangement Syndrome

It's a political illness that you don't want to infect your state's politics with any longer.

What the national media, locals who were complicit with the DNC efforts against Sarah Palin and even some fellow Republicans did to discredit her is a stain on the state of Alaska. Those who have soured on Sarah are simply uncomfortable with a negativity they don't understand and because their tranquil life in the nation's 49th state was disturbed at a time when apathy was allowing corruption to run wild. Don't blame Palin. Blame the media and blame those who would file frivolous ethics complaints and lie about her on their blogs. Also, blame Republican insiders who would throw a fellow Republican under the bus just to score political points with Palin Derangement Syndrome sufferers or because someone is still mad that her daddy lost to Palin in the last GOP gubernatorial primary.

Sarah Palin did not hurt Alaska; liberals and good ole boys did. And because the liberals brought forth frivolous ethics complaints against her and because the good ole boys formed an unholy alliance with them after their crony capitalism was upset by a hockey mom from Wasilla who dared to challenge their all so powerful hold on what was about to become the "Pottersville" of the northern most tip of America, many Alaskans are left with a bad taste in their mouth. And while some misattribute this to her, the real issue is not what the liberals and good ole boys made Alaskans think of her that caused the applecart to be upended, it's their elitism and cronyism that created the environment for such a distasteful turn of events.

Sometimes applecarts have to be upended if you are going to get people's attention, especially when there's a problem. Alaskans remember the days of insider politics, backroom deals and living off the teet of the federal government through earmarks. Unless you're a liberal hack or a good ole boy crony, chances are you will see running from candidates like Ramras and Murkowski as another positive step in the right direction for Alaska. The fact that Sean Parnell has handled the ball well since getting it passed to him from "the barracuda" when her political ankle was fractured during rough play with her opponents and the fact that he is a lock to win the gubernatorial election in 2010 tells us that Palin's plan is right for Alaska even when the caricature of her is wrong.

Alaskans have a choice now. They can go backwards to the corrupt Alaska that was or they can move forward with open transparency in their state government and benefit from the notions and ideals that were quietly ignored until Palin gave life to them as governor. They can send leaders to Washington who will fight for conservative principles that will leave the state capable of being true to its self-sufficiency argument when it lobbied for statehood. The days of the hypocrisy of the oil rich state living off of federal subsidies can be over simply by electing Joe Miller for Senate, Sean Parnell for governor and Eddie Burke for Lieutenant governor.

Anything short of that is just going to take Alaska off the road toward the future and will sling it back into its obscure past with its helpless political alcoholism that craves the drinks of cronyism and earmarks.

Does Alaska want to elect those seriously afflicted with Palin Derangement Syndrome like Lisa Murkowski or Jay Ramras? If Alaska wants to get that bitter taste out of its mouth, then they best not drink from those bottles anymore.

Alaska, you may some day lay claim to the fame of being the home state of the first woman president. Don't blow it now.

Chumming for Liberals

Sarah Palin was a hard working governor with a record high approval rating in Alaska when she was selected to be John McCain's running mate. She governed as a pragmatic, commonsense conservative who would work with everyone except the corrupt. Up until the point when she hit the national stage, the media and the elites saw a clear road ahead in achieving its dream of installing Barack Obama as president. With the coming of Palin, however, that changed. As a result of the threat she represented, she became the hunted and was nearly destroyed by a rash of frivolous ethics complaints and slanderous coverage from the so called "mainstream" media. Today, the tables have turned. She is now the huntress.

It's been said that in order for conservatives to win elections, they would have to present a stark contrast between what they stood for and what their liberal opponents stood for. There is no starker contrast than that between what Barack Obama represents and what Sarah Palin represents. In this lies her path to victory as a conservative leader and potentially as president.

While conservatives in general have become more aggressive out of necessity (they've gone from being the silent majority to the "angry mob" at Tea parties and at town halls), Palin in particular has charted a course directly into the headwind of liberalism. With first hand knowledge of what the press can do to someone like her, she has chosen not to retreat, but to reload with a new found optimism and spirit of defiance. She was once an unprotected moose out in the open during hunting season while governor of Alaska in the post election days leading up to her resignation.

Just when the liberals thought they had her, she went into a self imposed exile to write her book and emerged armed to the teeth with a brigade of loyal followers, a speaking tour, a Fox News gig, a Facebook page and a Twitter account. The "monster in liberals' eyes" had only been made stronger by the challenges they put before her.

Those who thought Palin was a snapshot in time or a caricature portrayed on Saturday Night Live got it wrong. The idea that the "idiot-woman" as Keith Olbermann described her would go back to Alaska and never be heard from again was a meme the liberals tried to force artificially on the stubborn reality where the fabric of existence can not only be stretched by time, but by truth, work ethic and relentless self improvement. If you thought she was big in 2008, just wait until 2012. Sarah Palin, as this blogger has always said, is an evolving candidate. Amy Siskund writes that "Palin is busy emerging, evolving and redefining."

Evolving from what? She was the rock star in 2008 who drew crowds with tears in their eyes because they knew that this was truly the woman who could save our country.The crowd in Minneapolis saw the spirit of Ronald Reagan speak to them out of the mouth of a woman who described herself as a "pitbull with lipstick." She kicked Joe Biden's ass in the vice presidential debate. Those things may have seemed big back then, but they are nothing compared to where Sarah Palin is going. What's scary about her evolution is that despite some stumbles along the way in the beginning, you could already sense the greatness. That was just the starting point.

What do you think she's doing when she gets the president to say there are no “death panels that will pull the plug on Grandma” during a town hall meeting. What do you think she's doing when she gets the president to say “Last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues.” What do you think she's doing when she gets Robert Gibbs to write on his hand?

And let's not forget the latest dangling of the yarn string in front of the gullible liberal cats with this tweet:

To which White House spokesman Bill Burton, filling in for Robert Gibbs, responded "if she (Palin) doesn't want to own Congressman (Joe) Barton's comments, that doesn't surprise me."

Emanuel used Barton's comments during Congressional hearings to claim that they are representative of the philosophy of the Republican party. As we all know, the Republican party quickly chided Barton for his comments and Palin wielded her rhetorical sword on behalf of the GOP with her tweet.

Sarah Palin is all over Obama like oil on the gulf. He can't stop the leak nor can he stop her from pointing out his every misstep. The woman who was once under the microscope for her clothing, her children, the most minor of misspeaks and for every other little nuance the mainstream media either made up or blew up into a mountain from a mole hill is now standing over the magnifying device and just savoring the specimen's slow decline.

Sarah Palin is making heads spin. When the smoke clears and all the yarn strings have been dangled, we will know exactly where everyone stands. Palin brings out the best in good people and the worst in bad people. It may get ugly, but for those who can't fully get on board with her because they are afraid of what the media will do to her or think she has political baggage because of miscues in the last campaign, remember the guy in the Miller Lite commercial and check your purse at the door.

The blood you smell is blood in the water. Sarah is on her rhetorical fishing boat and she is chumming for liberals. She may even be chumming for some good ole boy Republican insiders, too. Don't let that scare you. Because once the sharks all come to the surface like they are now in the Washington Post, Huffington Post, at the White House and across the internet, she is going to spear them like the beasts they are and have them for dinner. She always eats what she kills.

And the nourishment we will all get from rhetorically dead liberals is the nourishment we will need to muster up the strength and the courage that will be necessary to not only defeat those who are destroying this once shining city of a nation, but to rebuild it and restore it the greatness it once knew.

Americans Angry About Lying Media

How do you win the argument and convince people to elect conservatives again after the movement was on the ropes following the 2008 presidential election? When this blogger wrote the Fight for the Right page and Rebuilding the Republican Party, the answer was simple: convince them that the media lies. Once they realize the media lied to them, they will become angry and realize that we were right all along.

You'll never shove your candidate or your ideology down someone's throat because they will always protect their ego - unless they find out that they can blame someone else for causing them to be incorrect. "If I only knew" or "I didn't have that information" is the best opening line for any mea culpa. It is also the moment of revelation that angers a person when they realize that they have been misled. For many Obama voters with buyers remorse or Palin skeptics who were unsure of her, it's not their fault. They were lied to.

Right after the 2008 election was over and as Barack Obama was moving into the White House, I made it the staple of my diet to convince people that the media lies. We all went into the 2008 election with a "business as usual" approach. Many of us worked long hours to keep our heads above water during a period of economic contraction and crisis. While we expected the candidates to bash each other and put out lies and spin to further their campaigns, we never realized that the stuff that was spewing from the so called "objective media" was probably more effective propaganda than any ad the Obama campaign or George Soros released during that time. To make it worse, we busy Americans didn't have the time to research it. So voters took it at face value and believed that Barack Obama was the "messiah" and Sarah Palin was the dunce.

On the surface, the battle is with liberalism. But in reality, the nuts and bolts of the battle is with the media. Everything that Sarah Palin and Sean Hannity told us about Barack Obama and his agenda turned out to be true. In fact, Hannity will tell you he underestimated how radical Obama would be. The media slammed the right for the tactic of making an issue of Obama's associations with William Ayers, Reverend Wright and Father Pfleger. Yet, the tingles up their legs distracted them from scrutinizing the campaign tactics of the left like the DNC in Alaska which employed mostly unprofessional bloggers to slander Sarah Palin, the labor unions who were using members' union dues to campaign for Obama and ACORN whose workers who were lying and luring people into registering to vote as Democrats.

How was that possible? While ACORN was registering the "Donald Ducks" of the world as Democrats and handing out cigarettes to the bums they needed to pad their voter registration numbers, the media preferred to focus on Troopergate and Palin's clothes, which was a hullabaloo about nothing. While ACORN was committing financial and voter fraud, no one was there to investigate because they were all up in Alaska digging through Sarah Palin's garbage cans to see if they could find the pregnancy test she used for Trig or maybe the ashes of a burned book that had not been published yet.

What had become the Obama-mania media is the same media that honed the skills it would need to smear Palin by destroying George W. Bush before she hit the scene and which let John Edwards skirt by during the 2004 campaign. Had the media scrutinized Edwards the way they did Palin, you could bet every moose in Alaska his affair would have been exposed back then. This time, the media was AWOL, spending most of its time in Alaska and leaving the rest of the lower 48 in the hands of the Chris Matthews', Charlie Gibsons and Katie Courics of the world.

The Los Angeles Times gave Troopergate live play by play, but happened to neglect releasing a film of Obama at a dinner with Ayers where they were laughing at anti-Semetic jokes. Given the questions that are being asked about Obama's relationship with Israel today, that film is proving to be way more newsworthy than a family dispute between a governor and her brother-in-law. The Ayers film should have been shown.

Palin was massively criticized by the media for her "palling around with terrorists" comments, but no one had a problem with Obama sitting on boards with a man who admittedly blew up buildings. Nor did the media make any real connection about Obama's "57 states" gaffe with the 57 Islamic states. It took things like personal emails to each other to get this point out. Pamela Geller recently reported that Barack Obama told the Egyptian foreign minister that he is a muslim and "he would show the Moslem world what he would do with Israel." Another chicken the mainstream media missed has come home to roost.

We never fully recognized the scope of it during the election. I communicated then by email. I didn't have a blog. There was no Palin army presence online yet. I simply emailed my thoughts to friends and thought I was doing my part. When I realized that the media lied to us, I started my blog knowing that we needed a bigger presence and platform out there. It was with joy that I watched the web blossom with conservative and pro-Palin sites all through 2009. I knew people knew it. Today, the winds of change are blowing full force with Barack Obama now at 41% approval according to the latest Rasmussen poll.

Nothing the liberal media tells us now is believable. They can't save Barack Obama now.

And if it isn't a "I told you so" moment to beat all "I told you so" moments, than it is still a great moment. Brent Bozell III (the Founder and President of the Media Research Center), Andrew Breitbart, John Ziegler, Bernard Goldberg and Sarah Palin all worked tirelessly to hold the media accountable and to point out the blatant bias. The cat is out of the bag now. Bozell wrote "Americans have spoken and they are livid with the media." We have been lied to and we're pissed.

A new Rasmussen poll found an astonishing two thirds of American voters are at least somewhat angry at the media, including an entire one third who said they are ‘very angry.’ That’s disturbing but unfortunately, not surprising. The liberal media lost touch with the public and fair reporting long ago, and Americans are sick of their lavish praise for a President that is leading our country and economy into a disastrous state. The American people are abandoning the old media by the millions because they are simply fed up.

How does this play into the strategy of taking America back? It's the key component of it. The media was the wall between Americans and real information. Destroy the wall and take the castle.

Patrick's World USA Has A New Look

Welcome to the new look of Patrick's World USA. Today's post was going to be on Obama's speech last night, but the picture tells a thousand words. A hat tip to Sentryman on Team Sarah for the picture and for the laughing fit I experienced for about 15 minutes after I saw it.

It is my goal to truly bring the reader into my world, Patrick's World, and see what the Shining City on a Hill looks like from someone who lived during the Reagan years.

If you have lived through the Carter years, you understand the Obama years. If you lived through the Obama years, you understand the Carter years. If you lived through the Reagan years, you can understand what the Palin years could be like. If you haven't lived through the Reagan years, elect Sarah Palin and you'll find out what it's like.

One quick point I want to touch on is the vast contrast between Obama's message last night and Palin's message. While there is a lot in the speech to be covered by other bloggers and pundits (particularly the cap and tax stuff the president alluded to last night), there is one thing I picked up that Doug Brady at Conservatives4Palin also picked up on: government versus the private sector.

The president wants the government to use cap and trade as a tax to pay for the acceleration of our transition to non-carbon based sources of energy. In essence, he wants to try to game nature and the laws of economics so that he can get his "green way." He wants the government to increase the cost of "old energy" by creating a fictional product called the carbon credit and then having crony companies market the carbon credits which are attached to old energy. It's an elaborate scheme. "Brokers" can earn money like stockbrokers and brokerage houses do with real stock and the government can skim off this racket to pay for green jobs - government green jobs.

After listening to what Governor Palin had to say last night it hit me. Mr. President, environmental whackos, crooks in the waiting and the American left, I have a better idea. Actually, Sarah Palin has the better idea. Why not let the market dictate how energy is developed? Why not allow the forces of economics, not the barriers of government bureaucracy lead us to get companies involved in energy development? Why not waive the Jones act and start returning phone calls to companies that are begging to help. They have all the equipment we need to contain the spill and they should have been circling the spill site with booms and skimmers since day 3.

And greenies, if you want to get us over to alternative renewables, I'm with you. I would love to see you take the outheld hand that awaits government funding and put it back on the grindstone where it belongs and start building companies and preparing an entrepreneurial and capitalist road toward green development. The day green development starts to work is the day green people tell the government "I don't want a handout; I don't want bureaucratic red tape; but I do want a free and capital filled business environment from which to draw, earn, borrow and have folks invest the funds that I will need to make Barack Obama's dream of a green USA come true.

There is a right way they can go about doing that. But they're not going about it the right way.

Oh, and by the way. The reason we're drilling in deeper and deeper water is not because we are running out of oil on land or in shallow water as the president said. It's because we are being prevented from tapping into that oil by the government. Mr. President, that line in the speech was a crock.

What to Look For In Obama's Speech Tonight

Note to self: pick up sharp razor blades on the way home and get amphetamine prescription filled.

Seriously, though, if you were planning on ending it tonight, what better a time than when President Obama gets to the Cap and Tax section of his speech. Laura Ingraham pointed it out this morning on Fox and Friends. Like Rahm Emanuel said, "never let a good crisis go to waste."

That will be the key killing point of his speech. The president can be uplifting and encourage us not to get let down by this disaster. He will acknowledge our anger and he will promise to do everything he can to get us through this. That will be all fine and dandy until he throws a hand grenade into what up to that point would have been a good presidential speech.

For those of you who think you can't make it throught the speech, there is a reason to live. Sarah Palin will respond to it on the O'Reilly Factor.

All Hail Sarah The Great

"Saint Sarah" shows us the liberals are facing facts about her greatness in their own mocking way



I guess we had this one coming, didn't we? Sometimes what comes around goes around. It's time to take our payback for mocking the greek columns at Obama's acceptance speech at the DNC. The left has a new meme and it's actually quite good if you ask me. We just worship Sarah. She's "sister Sarah," "Saint Sarah," or as I would prefer to have her properly and reverently referred to as "Sarah the Great." The liberals got us this time. After a year and a half of failing to convince us how irrelevant, how unelectable, how dumb and how unpopular (queue all the polls since Nov 2008) Sarah Palin is, they found a better meme - she is a goddess and her kool aid drinking flock worship at her feet. Busted!

Let's first mark this as the point in time where Sarah Palin has finally crossed the Rubicon. She can no longer be smeared by left wing blogs that make things up. She has a platform now and a megaphone that is sharper, larger and more deadly than the heaviest of swords. If they try to tell you she has breast implants, boom - fire up the satellite truck and get her on. Slash. Seeeelice. No breast implants. Media lie debunked. "Thanks for having me on, Greta."

There are still some residuals. I talked to a great friend last night who told me he didn't like her because she killed turkeys. I'm friggin serious. He lives in New York and they all think that she killed turkeys during that thanksgiving interview from 2008 when she was governor (the one where the guy was putting turkeys into the shredder behind her). So there is still some work to do about the old stuff the media had people believing. But for the most part, the libs can kiss goodbye any chance of running any divorce rumors, breast implant rumors or Oscar suite rumors up the media flagpole anymore. Everything that Sarah Palin is doing is right out in the open and she has spotters on every roof now. It's not like when she was governor and they were just shooting at her like an unprotected moose in an open field.

This is the moment in time when in the eyes of the left, dumb Sarah is out and Saint Sarah is in.

So call me cocky or what you will. I just want to know one thing. When Barack Obama was walking on water and delivering the Sermon on the Mount during the the 2008 campaign, hero worship was okay, right? I saw the faces of the people in the crowd. They were fainting. They were crying. They were practically speaking in tongues for goodness sake.

I know this Newsweek article (lol Josh Painter, "Newswreck article") is par for the lamestream media course and Sarah Palin herself has sneered at it. But look at it this way, Palinistas: it's a great day. It wasn't until Barack Obama was gaining his following and building his momentum that he was mocked as "the messiah" and "the annointed one." It's only fair now that Palin is hitting her stride and on her way to the top of the mountain that she gets the barbs now instead of him.

We worship what Palin stands for. If they mistake that for their empty worship of an empty suit who stood for an empty philosophy, so be it.

The time has come. Get used to it.

Mr. Obama: Tear Down This Wall

There is a wall that has to come down. It's the wall between the people and the government which needs to fall. The Obama administration is "thick" like oil and it's not getting through to them that moratoriums on drilling and pushing cap and tax are not the right answers to moving forward in the historical light of the Gulf oil spill. Like Berliners, the American people are preparing to take that wall down brick by brick, congressional district by congressional district, in November.

There was a time when everyone was comparing Sarah Palin to Ronald Reagan. Then it calmed down because I guess everyone was getting tired of hearing it. But it's happening again. This time the meme is back, not because of wishful thinking or because of some charismatic way she delivered a vice presidential nomination acceptance speech, but because of glaringly obvious historical parallels.

You don't need me anymore to tell you that Barack Obama is Jimmy Carter and Sarah Palin is Ronald Reagan in this modern remake of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." It's out there now. Only, this time, Mr. is a Mrs.

Ronald Reagan has a Facebook page now. Many think that Sarah Palin's taking to the new media is a new technique which has made her almost a shadow president who critiques Obama's every move and puts forth her own ideas and solutions. But many are too young to remember or don't really remember what life was like for Jimmy Carter between 1976 and 1980 when Ronald Reagan used his version of the Facebook page: the newspaper and the radio. From the Panama Canal sale all the way through the recession and the Cold War, Ronald Reagan dogged Jimmy Carter in much the same sense as Palin has been dogging Obama.

Ronald Reagan made sure that during the period of 1976 through 1980 he was on the speaking circuit, using his writing ability to communicate his ideas and getting airtime on radio stations throughout America during a time when there was no cable news network. Palin's speaking gig does this for her. Palin's Facebook page is her Op Ed page. And her appearances on the Fox News Channel serve to be the radio broadcasts of Reagan's days - with clips appearing on youtube and pro Palin websites across the internet.

Not to tip off any potential opponents both within the GOP or the Democrat party, but if you want to know Palin's playbook, just study Ronald Reagan. She is putting together this bicycle strictly right out of the instruction manual.

So, it is only fitting that Palin would use her Facebook page to remind us that Saturday was the 22nd anniversary of Reagan's "Tear Down This Wall" speech. Ace of Spades HQ has the rest of the story.

Obama: America's Big Mistake

America elected the wrong guy. If John McCain was president, Vice President Palin would have immediately been called into action because of her knowledge of energy issues. Palin being available for her energy expertise on this crisis for a President McCain would have been as good historical timing as Dick Cheney being available for his military knowledge to George W. Bush when that situation needed it. Had Palin been asked to head up the oil spill disaster task force, chances are booms and boats would be out there already and the oil spill would be contained while experts in both the White House and the BP boardroom would be working feverishly, with no super soaker fight breaks, golf outings or concerts to distract them.

While President Obama dithers, looks for asses to kick and allows his agencies to stymie clean up efforts by not communicating with companies that can provide the products and services necessary for such an operation, Sarah Palin says she would have suspended the Jones act immediately and then pulled together a team of experts to attack the problem right out of the gate. She would have communictated regularly with BP CEO Tony Hayward because, as someone with executive skill would know, BP's perception and her perception of the problem would be different and they would need to meld those views together so that she could properly verify accurately what was happening on the ground.

In the interview with Van Susteren, Palin also addresses another high level issue being discussed in the mainstream media. She debunks the myth that she had breast enhancement surgery.

So now that's two women who have had to look directly into the camera within a week to dispell unfounded rumors about themselves. Nikki Haley, you'll recalled told debate viewers that she has been faithful to her husband.

Meanwhile, while the left is off looking at Sarah Palin's boobs, the oil continues to spill into the Gulf of Mexico and the rag tag clean-up effort continues to meander.
