She's as Cool as Cucumber

Sarah Palin met a detractor face to face in Homer on Friday and handled it with dignity and grace.

We all know the blogger I am about to link you to, Shannyn Moore. Go to her post on The Huffington Post and scroll down. For objectivity sake, I recommend watching the video first before reading Moore's article. The video should tell it all. Without the blogger's twisting of the circumstances surrounding the event and without the blogger's picture of the torn down sign (which for all we know could have been taken later that day after everyone had left), we intelligent readers can see a calm cool Sarah Palin handling a discussion with a detractor with dignity.

Anything else alluded to in the blogger's article is pure bias and pure speculation on her part. She is unable to show Sarah herself using any obscenities or acting in a hostile way. Nor is she able to actually show how and when the sign was taken down. Since Moore or her television show production company
(Update: article corrected for accuracy) Billy Sullivan, owner of Dockside Fish where the sign was hung had a cell phone camera (end update) and was also able to get a picture of the sign down, it raises the question of why they didn't film the taking down of the sign or the alleged profanity used by one of the Palin children. It kind of reminds me of what was said about racial epithets or spit being sent someone's way from a Tea Partier.

As for 1st amendment rights violations, don't make me laugh. Shannyn Moore was free to post the video on Huffington Post and this blogger clearly credits her for use of the video here. I would not want to interfere with hers or the protestor's 1st amendment rights by ignoring the event or censoring it from the "Palinosphere."

The blogger tweeted about protestors appearing at her documentary taping. From the looks of the blogger's own video post, there is only one - count them slowly, now - protestor with a huge sign proving once again that those with fewer numbers must scream louder and post bigger signs if they are to be heard.

As for Shannyn Moore's comment "[the cameraman] was even told by one of the Palin daughters, 'You're an A-hole'. Charming family values," let's be fair to a kettle calling a pot black. Moore had no problem with "charming family values" when she called Palin a "Ho" on her Twitter page. Remember for liberals, the values are only used when they are useful for their side.

(Update: Moore does a rhetorical eye roll in her article, which the Lamestream Media didn't cover. The only "eye roll" was the alleged one by Sarah Palin. It turns out, Sarah was "rolling her eyes" to look behind Bristol because that's where the guy with the cell phone camera was. Sarah then waved to the camera.)

(Disclaimer: I am linking to the article, rather than posting the video here out of respect for Ms. Moore's first amendment rights as well as for the sake of journalistic integrity. Many of my readers may not be happy about having traffic driven to Ms. Moore's article or her YouTube site, but it is Ms. Moore's intellectual property. Comments on this post will be moderated and removed for profanity, libel or slander. Intellectually honest disagreements will not be removed).

Why We Do This

On my upcoming Blogtalk Radio show, I have two guests (Gary P. Jackson and Stacy Drake) who have been influential in my online activism. The guest from last week, Ron Devito, also falls into that category. I trace it all back to a series of e-mails I sent to my friends during the 2008 election and what happened after the election. In recollecting all the things that have led me to this day, I realize that it has been my love of Reaganism, conservatism and the principles of our Founders that caused me to get up off the couch and speak out.

The catalyst in all of this is Sarah Palin. When I watched her speak at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, the deal that had been in my mental workings from the day McCain introduced her to us was sealed. Without realizing it at the time, I went all in with an email that I sent to my friends telling them that I was convinced that we had found our next Reagan. I immediately thought to myself after hitting the send button that I may have done something blasphemous. Ronald Reagan, after all, is a god to me (I'm speaking figuratively here). I'd gone decades never giving politicians even the remotest of that kind of comparison or consideration.

I read Michael Reagan's article Welcome Back, Dad and realized that it was not political blasphemy and that I was not alone. If it was good enough for Reagan's son to say it, it was good enough for me. And many other writers were making the comparisons as well.

I drove my friends nuts with my emails. After some begging around election day, I decided to stop sending the emails. I was preaching to a small choir and they were getting bored with the sermon.

With the election over, I went back to just reading political articles like I've always done. I'm a political junkie who somehow made it through the Clinton and Bush years with my conservatism intact even if my cynicism was growing. But I lost it totally when I started reading rubbish about Sarah Palin, who was supposed to go home and govern Alaska and prepare herself for re-election in 2010.

I was stunned by the hatred and vitriol that I was reading in the Anchorage Daily News. I started reading the ADN regularly. I was after all, a Sarah Palin fan. Yes, it kept me up to date on what she was doing as governor, but some of the articles vicious and the comments were downright vulgar. I checked profiles and watched what the commenters were doing. It had all the signs of an AstroTurfing campaign. New screen names would appear and disappear with no profile pictures or bios of any of the members. The ADN was being used by the left to build a negative picture of Sarah Palin because the left knew that people would be following her there.

I am an open minded guy. I read blogs and publications that I don't agree with. I became a member of the Huffington Post. I read Salon.com. Camille Paglia is one of my favorite liberal writers because I think she's a great writer not because I agree with her. But as I began to read some disturbing things online about the role the media and the DNC played in smearing Sarah Palin during the campaign, I traced it all back to a handful of bloggers in Alaska.

Celtic Diva was the official DNC blogger. I traced her associations and found that she had met with or conversed with some people who were in her loop and the loop with Democrat operatives. I read The Mudflats and Just a Girl from Homer and I couldn't understand why these blogs continued to bash Palin relentlessly. Instead of just seeing stories about progressive issues, it seemed like every day was dedicated to putting out some kind of lie or smear about Sarah Palin.

Then I read the Wasilla Project website and got it. The site is no longer online. But there was a blurb on there telling supporters that just because the election was over didn't mean Palin wouldn't be back in 2012. It urged supporters to continue their fight against her. I realized then that this was not your typical end of an election cycle.

Shannyn Moore referred to secrecy and documentarians in a post she wrote for the Huffington Post. I researched deeply and found that there was only one documentarian in Alaska during the election - The Wasilla Project. The Alaska bloggers were in on it. They had to have introduced the filmmakers to the malcontents they used for their documentary because they themselves were partisans and could not appear directly in the film.

I found a website, Team Sarah. As much as it struck me that there were people in the blogosphere dedicating themselves to smearing Sarah Palin, it also struck me that she had a fan base building. I started blogging there.

On November 30, 2008, I had enough of what the media was doing and I started my website. It was nearly a month after the election and the smearing of Sarah Palin was as relentless as it was during the campaign. They were starting to file frivolous ethics complaints against her. The media was questioning her every time she would speak out on a national issue, even though she was doing it in the context of being governor and how the issue affected her state. There was a coordination to this smear campaign that continued long after the election was over.

Ron Devito and Gary P. Jackson were writing some awesome things over at Team Sarah. I picked up my efforts as well and started blogging there as well. A group formed on Team Sarah to target articles where the AstroTurfers were smearing Sarah or where an article itself was a hit piece. We would go on "strafing runs" to post positive comments and to defend Sarah Palin. We were not AstroTurfers. We used our real screen names and profiles and we made it a point that people would know who we were. There was to be no more free shots at Sarah Palin from unnamed AstroTurfers, and the authors of these hit pieces would get their names known, albeit by the 50,000 or so members of Team Sarah.

The counterinsurgency had begun and the online war was underway. We were outnumbered at first, but we were committed to taking back the blogosphere and making it ours. In order to defeat liberalism and Obamaism, we had to defeat the media, old and new.

Other writers and bloggers were coming on board. As the year passed, the Palinosphere grew exponentially. Websites and blogs were popping up everywhere. Conservatives4Palin came online January 15, 2009. They confirmed that Sarah Palin was to be Glenn Beck's first guest on his new Fox television program. I consider that Monday January 19, 2009 as the day that I realized we were building an army. Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin spoke to that army and the rest is in the books now, as they say.

I told friends the war was being fought in cyber space and our army is growing.

After Palin resigned, the army even grew bigger. Stacy Drake was motivated to start a blog October 10, 2009 for the same reasons I started mine. She wrote "We live in a country where the mainstream press is completely corrupt and in the pants of the executive branch of our government." Stacy also became a contributor to Conservatives4Palin.

Sarah Palin has turned her Facebook page into a rhetorical Excalibur. At the same time, her army has been weilding their rhetorical swords for her since the election. She knows we have her back. We know she has ours. With the continuous pounding of the truth and the new ways we now have of getting that truth up the media flagpole to top outlets like Fox News, The Washington Times and the New York Daily News, our message now competes with the liberal memes that once went unchecked in the media.

Our leader grabbed the bull by the horns herself and became a Fox News contributor, gave the Daily Caller the interview which was the coup de gras for the Journolisters and communicates via Facebook in a way that will be taught to communications majors in college for generations to come.

There there is us, Ron, Gary and Stacy, who are the foot soldiers in the Palin revolution wielding our swords for the conservative cause, a cause that now has a leader again.

Gary and Stacy will tell us about themselves and their websites on Wednesday. It will be great to get their perspectives on what motivated them to get involved in the cause. Please tune in.

What's the Plan, Man?

Say it ain't so, Joe? What's the plan, man? Time for me to get a new t-shirt.

But here's the real question, libs. How are you going to destroy Sarah Palin now? You've tried everything only to be thwarted by Palin's persistence and work ethic.

I can't find it anywhere, but I know I wrote that Sarah Palin has been working her butt off.  So I'll just let her speak for herself:
And here I am, thousands of miles away from DC out on a commercial fishing boat, working my butt off for my own business, merely asking the Democrat politicos and their liberal friends in the media: “What’s the plan, man?”, and they seem to feel threatened by my question.
This does not bode well for liberals. Normally, they attack her outside the arena of ideas with all the crazy memes you all know about. But now, they are engaged in a major argument with her inside the arena of ideas. Why threatened by her question? Because they can't answer it. She's right and she has them in a corner.

Yup, the "dumb Caribou Barbie" has the left stumped in an intellectual argument about policy. Oh boy, this is going to be fun. This could end up being as bad for the left as a nuclear physicist losing a debate to a guy who starred in a movie next to a monkey.

They took her into the alley and tried to beat her, and she came back like Chuck Norris or Jackie Chan and mopped the street with them. They took her on in the media, and again she came back and mopped the papers and the internet with them. Now, they are admitting she's a formidable candidate. Now, they're admitting they can argue with her in the political arena. They finally got up the cojones to take her head on and she still beats them.

They took her on on the most substantive thing she said on Fox News Sunday last week. They must have figured stories making fun of her for writing on her hand or what her children did this week is not going to fly anymore. And once again, they are finding that no matter what weapon, what angle or what approach they come at her with, it's futile.

Resistance is futile. Sarah Palin has the upper hand now and soon it will be "Bedtime for Bonzo" for the left.

Politifact Pans Palin's Thorough Research; Palin Pans Politifact

Sarah Palin is Intelligent and Competent

The media just loves breaking Sarah Palin's chops. Politifact.com and the St. Petersburg Times thought that they would just shoot Sarah Palin down and instead they got shot down themselves. Sarah Palin writes on her Facebook page:
Yesterday, PolitiFact.com fact-checked my statement about the coming $3.8 trillion Obama tax hike – the largest tax increase in history. They did such a bad job of it, however, that I feel compelled to fact-check the fact-checkers.
The media and the left, which have been so intent on proving that Sarah Palin is an idiot or she doesn't know policy, must have gotten blurry vision after the shellacking they took from her and the Daily Caller in the last few weeks. Like a staggered boxer who punches at the air and helplessly flails at the opponent, the media and the left stupidly showcases an incident where Sarah Palin was intelligent and knew her policy in a deperate attempt to belittle her. They end up getting clobbered by another Facebook note in the process.

Check out the articles that were written even after Palin told the Fox News Sunday audience that she had her facts and figures with her so she wouldn't "get dinged, you know, by the -- by the liberals saying I didn't know what I was talking about." It was a pre-emptive strike and yet the liberals in the moronosphere still went after it like silly cats who can't help but to go after the dangling yarn string every time.

The left is showing how discombobulated they are now.

Palin researched the issue and probably re-researched it again to rebut Politifact. The liberals and the media can whine all they want about her "lack of knowledge." But the truth is, she thoroughly researched this issue. When she pulled out her facts and figures, she showed them up. When she wrote on her hand, she was intentionlly mocking them. That's what they really didn't like.

They're not splitting hairs over trillions of dollars in "alleged" tax hikes. They're dinged. They got smacked by Sarah Palin good so they smacked her. Then she smacked them back even harder. The monster is growing too big now and the liberals can't stop it.

This is just the beginning. The left is getting frustrated by their inability to get their agenda through, and its showing. They used to hit Palin in her blind spots and get away with free shots before the shields went up. But now they are becoming so unbalanced that they aren't even capable of mounting an effective attack anymore. Many of them are begrudgingly accepting the fact that Palin is intelligent and competent now that the "she's dumb" meme has failed.

My late father said you could sell crap if you put it in the right bag. The media and the left sold America tons of horse manure by packaging it in the right Obama bags in 2008. Sarah Palin simply rips the bag open and shows the American people what they bought. When that happens, the left and the media go nuts. How dare she expose them for the morally and intellectually bankrupt ideologues that they really are.

Patrick's World USA is Now On Blogtalk Radio

Listen to internet radio with ReaganTMan on Blog Talk Radio

I'd like to send out a special thanks to Ron Devito of US for Palin for being my first guest on the new show. The show will air on Blogtalk Radio every Wednesday night at 11:00 pm Eastern time.

The first half of the show went well when Ron was on. The second half of the show was a little bit more of a rough ride. I did a long monologue to give listeners an idea of how I envision the shining city on a hill and to encourage listeners that we can make our country great again. However some distractions threw me off. Hopefully the content of the monologue got through and listeners were able to get a feel for where I'm going with this thing.

I wasn't able to get to a couple of callers on the line. When the monologue was finished, there was about four minutes left in the show and I had my cousin from Florida at the house so it was tough for me to try to squeeze in the calls and keep track of time at that point, so I played the theme song and the show came up just short of the 60 minute mark.

The format will be tweaked a little next week. The first half hour will be a monologue and if time permits I will take calls. The second half will be for guests and callers. At 11:30, I will have my guest on and once we're done talking I will take calls, again time permitting.

I hope everyone gives it a second chance next week.

Katie Couric is a Sick Puppy

Conservatives4Palin has posted a tape of Katie Couric prior to going on the air the day John McCain selected Sarah Palin to be his running mate. The bias was already evident even before the first news of it hit the air that night on CBS Evening News. Always the professional, Couric prepared herself for that night's on air appearance by mocking Sarah Palin and her children. Sarah can add her to the list of sick puppies. Couric is just another one of those yahoos who pose as journalists in the demented media world we live in today.

I look forward to the day someone pours her her final drink as anchor for the CBS Evening News and carries her stumbling to the car to take her home where she can retire into obscurity with all of the rest of the disgraced journalists (or should I say "journolists") who will soon fill the halls of the Fletcher Memorial Home for incurable ideologues and wastes.

Sarah Palin Has Shown She Can Lead Us

It's something I've been saying since we lost the election. Hammer it home. Don't sell Sarah Palin. Sell the people on the fact that the media lies to them. Once they realize that, they'll figure the rest out. - from a post I wrote July 21, 2010.

I don't blame people for not really knowing what it is, in some instances -- what I stand for or what my record is because if I believed everything that I read or heard in the media, I wouldn't like me either. - Sarah Palin yesterday on Fox News Sunday

I must have woken up my neighborhood yesterday morning when she said that. I yelled out one loud YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!

Step by step, conservatives have done what I outlined on my Fight for the Right page over a year and a half ago. Andrew Breitbart (Big Journalism), Tucker Carlson (The Daily Caller), Brent Bozell  (Newsbusters) and Sarah Palin have done the things necessary to help rebuild the movement by pushing back on media bias. As such, the conservative movement is alive and well, thriving nearly a year and half after being on its death bed following the election of Barack Obama.

Conservatives are doing everything they need to do to prepare ourselves to lead again when the political tides swing back our way at the ballot boxes in 2010 and 2012.

They could not do it without courage and conviction. They were not afraid to push back when liberals tried to portray them as racists, an angry mob or a bunch of dumb yahoos. They are professionals, lawyers, writers, blue collar workers, stay at home moms, rich, poor, middle class, black, white and a myriad of other races. They are America. The liberals are the dismantlers. Conservatives has shown they are willing to get their hands dirty in building it back to the way it was supposed to be.

Sarah Palin has methodically revived her image and articulated the conservative message in the face of a now dying liberal headwind. Long gone are the days when the media takes free shots at her or drives her from office by relentlessly pursuing frivolous ethics complaints against her. She has shown that she is a fighter. She has shown that she cannot be defeated. She has shown that she can lead us.

Sarah Palin Through the Eyes of the Left

(offensive language warning)

This is how Sarah Palin brings out the bad in people. She is like a spot of holy water on those demonized by negativity. One's inability to cheerlead their own beliefs is quickly replaced with their ability to destroy others who don't share those beliefs. Sarah Palin represents something that just shakes the nest of an unhappy heart.

I'm a reasonable guy. I can enjoy a political conversation even when someone doesn't agree with me. Who wants to talk to yes people all the time. There is no learning experience there. I want to talk to people who can offer a different perspective. I love exchanging ideas, "seeing where someone is coming from," and ageeing to disagree.

But when people start talking about shoving things up one's vagina or hate fucking, I realize that we've hit the nest and gone beyone regular discourse. We've hit the heart of darkness. Normally, the heart of darkness hides, but is quick to reveal itslef when something so opposite and so antithetical to it causes it to react.

And boy has it reacted.

Jessica Grose, one of the top 10 Sarah Palin haters according to NewsReal Blog says it best when she says of Palin "I had simultaneous IM conversations with many friends, who said things like, 'she seems like a fucking monster'..."  (h/t Texas for Sarah Palin) Yup, that's it in a nut shell. Sarah Palin is the manifestation of the monster conjured from the heads of unhinged liberals who don't realize that the monster is really themselves hating and projecting that hatred onto a figure that scares the shit out of them because she exposes all of their moral deficiencies.

Are some Americans seeing Sarah Palin through the eyes of the left?

Sarah Palin said "I don't blame people for not really knowing what it is, in some instances what I stand for, what my record is because if I believed everything that I read in or heard in the media, I wouldn't like me either.”

The real question is, if you don't like Sarah Palin is it because you don't like yourself when juxtaposed with her? And how quickly can you spread that negativity and get everyone to be as negative as you are?  Therein lies the manifestation of a monster.
